Flat envy...

Today's offering is the Milan home of power couple Brian Atwood and Nate Berkus.

The banana leaf wallpaper by Hinson is particularly striking (especially for me, I grew up on a banana farm) and it even pops up in Nicky Hilton's house. Never thought I associate good taste and the Hilton family, but there you go.

Sunken sculpture...

Jason deCaires Taylor is an English sculptor specialising in the creation of contemporary underwater cement sculptures which over time develop into artificial coral reefs, or are retrieved and set in perspex.
I love the idea of an underwater gallery, there aren't as many wrecks/sites of interest to dive around as there use to be, and it's such a surreal way to explore and discover new worlds.

Fully domesticated...

A herd of animal based interior antics, starting with the uber cool homewares of French company Ibride

Moooi also do a good line in animal accessories

And then there's François-Xavier and Claude Lalanne

And the best of the rest:

Loup-table, Victor Brauner

Bambi Chair by Kamina & C, Hybrid no.1 by Merve Kahraman

What to do whilst watching the Paralympics...

Get knitting, winter is coming and the guerrilla yarn bombers are back...

Spotlight on...

 Jean-Louis Deniot.
The Parisian wonder boy who is a design triple threat (architecture, interior and furniture design) and is coveted by the global super glam. I love his furniture, but I think his interiors and exteriors are a little too Hollywood for British tastes.
