I love the feel and style of this design, although I think it is a touch overkill. Still - what a bathroom!

It's called 18.36.54 (based on its 18 planes, 36 points and 54 lines of construction) by Studio Daniel Libeskind and sits in Connecticut. 

Weird and wonderful...

Is the work of lighting artist Alex Randall, whose fairy tale furries and taxidermy tales are bewitching and bemusing. And there is something inherently English about them.

I can't remember if it was Elizabeth Taylor or Joan Collins who said "always hold dinner parties 2 nights in a row - you save on the flowers". On a similar thrifty note,

Giorgia Zanellato's marvellous mirrored vases turn one stem into 20 and are attractive objects in their own right.

3D printed home wares...

I've long been fascinated with 3D printing. The options are limitless but at the moment the printers still seem to be making quite crude images and they haven't found much use for them. These vases, tea sets and bowls by Matthew Plummer-Fernandez are just beautiful. He's a young graduate and I really hope these take off for him.

A Chadwick candlestick is high on my wish list, there are loads of exciting examples floating around, but I still think they win.

Ladylike...

The master of female furniture is surely Allen Jones. Best known for Kubrick's Korova Milk Bar homage (as Jones refused to create the works for free).

Jones' sculptures are known as 'forniphallic', and when they first appeared in the early 70s were an instant international sensation. I think the set below (with Allen in his flat) was produced as an edition of 5, one of which was bought by Kym Bonython and destroyed in a bush fire, one is in Belgium in the home of a wealthy collector, and I think the other have been split and are scattered in galleries around the world (the Tate has the chair, Moma has the table). They are definitely high on my "when I win the lotto" list.
