Spotlight on...

Hervé van der Straeten.
Originally a jewellery designer for the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Lacroix, and a perfume bottle designer for Christian Dior, the young Frenchman's range now includes a selection of modern furniture, lighting and mirror designs.
When not designing luxurious jewelry, flasks and make up packaging, the designer creates elegant and exclusive lights, mirrors, chairs and tables, with a penchant for bronze: the coldness of the metal contrasts perfectly with the fresh playfulness of his creations. His gallery is now often billed as one of Paris’ best design shops, and qualifies the artist as one of France’s most talented young designers.

Because of the meticulous nature of the work, he only creates about 30 pieces a year, and the waiting list is long and the prices extortionate.
